EuMIGS Lecture Series - Autumn 2021

The first lecture of the series, entitled An interdisciplinary approach towards international student mobility by Christof Van Mol from Tilburg University takes place on Wednesday, October 27th 2021, 6 – 8 pm.

In this lecture, Dr. Christof Van Mol will focus on the main international student mobility (ISM) trends as well as the empirical literature focusing on the determinants of ISM. The trends and empirical findings will be connected to the theoretical literature on social inequalities, migration regimes and the internationalization of higher education. Through such approach, the complexity of studying international student mobility will be highlighted, illustrating the heterogeneous dynamics that underpin the phenomenon.

This lecture is also the keynote for a digital EuMIGS seminar about ISM. Students from participating Master's programs will collaborate in international research groups and academics from the partner institutes will contribute their scientific expertise with thematic inputs about different aspects of ISM.
